He/Him
Seattle, WA

WHEN YOU GET A NEW PROJECT FROM BLUE Q, HOW DO YOU BEGIN? WHAT’S THE STARTING POINT?
Start sketching loose ideas, then narrow down concepts and then wait for Mitch to shit all over them and start again.
WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU NEED A BREAK?
I would love to take my dog for a walk but instead, I just raid the fridge and eat something with lots of calories.
WHAT’S YOUR BIGGEST ART INSPIRATION?THIS MAY NOT BE VISUAL. LIKE, ANYTHING!
Anything handcrafted. I often look at small town artisans and feel inspired by the work they create with whatever they have in hand.
DID YOU HAVE A MAGIC MOMENT WHEN YOU KNEW YOU WANTED ART TO BE YOUR LIFE?
Probably when I was failing calculus while on my second year in college.

HOW DOES CREATIVITY RUN IN YOUR FAMILY, EVEN IF IT’S NOT DESIGN-RELATED?
My grandpa was a super creative person and a maker, he played guitar, was super interesting in learning skills and took painting later in his life. My mom is an artist/maker as well, she encouraged me to draw and took me to museums when I was a kid. She is also a maker and makes handcrafts out of disposed objects and paints sometimes.
