People are everything at Blue Q. Whether it’s under our roof, down the street, or across the globe, we are dedicated to actively engaging with and supporting our community, particularly those who need it most. This commitment stems from our deep reflection on social injustices, both in the United States and worldwide.
We are firm in our stance against racial inequity, LGBTQIA+ discrimination, gender disparities, and any other form of injustice. As a successful business, we recognize our responsibility to contribute to positive change, both financially and through hands-on involvement.
That’s why 1% of the sale of every Catnip Cat Toy, Beanie and Swedish Dishcloth supports these initiatives, with donations made to a range of international and local groups. Recipients include the Transgender Law Center and the Southern Poverty Law Center as well as local groups such as the Boys & Girls Club of the Berkshires and Rights of Passage and Empowerment (ROPE), a mentoring program for young women of color and individuals identifying as female or non-binary.
In addition to these ongoing donations, Blue Q has contributed funds, supplies, and time to a number of hard-working, locally based organizations including WestSide Legends which is working to reinvigorate Pittsfield’s racially diverse West Side neighborhood, Central Berkshire Habitat for Humanity, and the Elizabeth Freeman Center, which provides services to survivors of domestic and sexual violence and to their families.
